A family story in every bottle.
Tradition is an invaluable value in a world that moves faster every day. The roots of this wine culture reach deep into the history of Flemlingen, a village first documented in 767 in the Lorscher Codex. The name Minges has been documented in the region since the 13th century, and the family line has remained closely connected to the land, the vineyards and the craft of winemaking.
The current family estate was once connected to the Counts von der Leyen, and the historic Zehntkeller still remains as part of that heritage. For more than eight generations, the family has been dedicated to viticulture. Around 1847, Johannes Minges, son of the winegrower Valentin Minges, moved from the village centre to the estate that still carries the family story today.
The feeling for the sensitive work with the vines, the patience to understand their needs and the instinct for good wine have been passed on through the generations like a family recipe. Over time, new ideas and impulses have refined the work, but the origin has never been lost. That is what makes these wines special.
